As part of the ongoing design project for the BART extension to San Jose, WRECO will performed the review of cross culvert hydrology and design. WRECO is also responsible for the drainage design of all major street crossings, some involving pump station design. The efforts include determining the capacity of the existing city storm drain systems and reconfigure the systems to accommodate the required drainage for the BART tracks or aerial structures. In some locations, the major challenge is to convey the 100-year flood flows around or through the proposed BART crossings. The segment under design extends from the Warm Springs station to the north end of the downtown San Jose tunnel section, approximately 8 miles. |
